This is an important site with referenced information on the damage caused by vaccination.  Written as a resource for parents who choose not to vaccinate their children, or who want more information on just what they are doing when they allow them to be vaccinated, it is equally good for the owner of a companion animal.

This is the first, and still the best site on the web about the tick-borne disease, Ehrlichiosis.  For the most part, vets are clueless about it and believe it is rare if they know anything at all.  In fact, Ehrlichiosis is nearing epidemic proportions, especially in the racing greyhounds.  There are many strains and they are all invariably fatal unless diagnosed and treated in time.  Treatment must be fast and it must be aggressive with twice the dosage of doxycycline recommended in the Merck Manual or with Imizol;  if Ehrlichiosis reaches the chronic stage, the outlook is grim.  Unhappily, it mimics many other diseases, often being mistaken for parvo, for instance, or leukemia.  Quite often, it shows no discernible symptoms at all, except to the concerned dog owner, and try getting a vet to consider a sudden lack of desire to play a warning sign of trouble...yet it can be.
Bob Wilson, the Border Terrier owner who created this site, together with a breeder of Border Terriers, Jan Hendricks, enlisted the aid of the foremost authority on rickettsial diseases in this country, Dr. Ibulaimu Kakoma, DVM, PhD, of the University of Illinois, who wrote the foreword.  This is information you must have, even if you think there are no ticks in your area.  There is a strain of E. that is not carried by ticks but has another vector entirely, yet is just as deadly.  Go, read, and save this site in your Favorites.  I hope you won't, but you may need it someday.

Pam Barbe's excellent links page on tick disease was born from the anguish she has been through with her beautiful, white Samoyeds, all of whom have suffered from tick disease of one form or another...Ehrlichiosis, Babesiosis  and Lyme disease. If you need general information and links to sites with more specialized info, this is a great starting point.

Have you ever wondered exactly what a virus is?  Did you know that viruses are practically immortal and can recur in a mutated form decades after they first invade the body?  How are vaccines made?  Is killed any better than live, or would your best choice be no vaccination at all?  This article will definitely give you something to think about before you give your dog another vaccination.  Or have one yourself, for that matter.

The Case Against Vaccination ~ a powerful and compelling argument against vaccination given in a speech by Dr. Walter Hadwen in 1896!  Although this speech referred to the disastrous consequences of human vaccination, it is equally applicable to dogs...perhaps it is even more relevant for them as they are vaccinated over and over in their short lives, many more times than any of us.  This speech deserves to be read and passed on to as many people as I can reach...as you can reach.  Once you have read it, I believe you'll agree.
